The Reds captain could miss the next two games because of a strain to an adductor muscle, but there are various conflicting reports on the matter...
According to various reports in the British press, a scan has revealed that Steven Gerrard sustained a small strain to his adductor muscle during Liverpool's 3-1 Champions League quarter-final first leg defeat to Chelsea on Wednesday.
Apparently, the news leaves the Reds captain and manager Rafael Benitez with a tough decision to make regarding the midfielder's return to action.
The Daily Post writes that the England international could play against Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League on Saturday, although the publication suggests that would probably rule him out of Tuesday's Champions League tie at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, The Sun and The Daily Mail suggest that Benitez will opt not to risk the midfielder against Rovers, despite the player himself insisting he is ready to play through the pain barrier.
It starts to get a little confusing when some reports indicate Gerrard will return for the Chelsea match while others hint that he will miss that game as well as Saturday's fixture against Blackburn. The Daily Mirror even claims he will only be rated 50-50 for the game with Arsenal on April 21.
