The Blaugrana technical director is keeping a close eye on the two Brazilian prodigies and was even invited first hand to watch one of them play…
Barcelona are looking to bring more young talent to the Camp Nou and Brazilian duo Keirrison and Neymar appear to be heading the list at present.
According to El Mundo Deportivo, Barca’s technical director, Txiki Begiristain, who is currently in Brazil, was yesterday invited to Palmeiras’ VIP box to watch the game against Bragantino and observe Keirrison in action.
The invite was organised by Traffic Sports Marketing, the company who owns the rights to Keirrison and who also helped Barcelona sign Henrique last season.
The 20-year-old Keirrison is currently one of the hottest prospects to come out of Brazil and is already being tracked by countless clubs across Europe including Liverpool, Real Madrid and Milan. But the close relationship between the Blaugrana and his representatives and the fact that the striker himself has voiced his admiration for Barcelona may tip the youngster towards the Camp Nou.
El Mundo also reported that Begiristain is interested in Santos’ 17-year-old striker, Neymar, who has already won praise from Pele and dubbed ‘the new Robinho’. Both Manchester City and Manchester United are believed to be tracking the teenager, and it was also reported that Real Madrid came close to signing him back in 2005.
