Barcelona produced a stunning display as they brushed Malaga aside at the Camp Nou on Sunday evening. Goal.com watched the game and gave each player a mark out of ten...

    BARCELONA

Valdes 7.5 - Had nothing to do in the first half and showed that he had not stopped focussing by making two fine stops after the break.

Alves 8 - A superb game down the right that saw him score with a brilliant header and provide several crosses, although he allowed Eliseu to advance after he had been caught up field.

Marquez 7.5 - Allowed his partner at the back to do most of the leg work while he controlled things in the air as he nodded away crosses time and again.

Caceres 7.5 - Has had his critics but he played very well and made a superb block to help ensure that Blaugrana kept a clean sheet.

Sylvinho 7.5 Looked comfortable on the left and linked up well when pushing up ensuring that very little went down his side going back.

Toure 6 - Only had time for a few touches as Barcelona began to find their stride when he picked up a knock and had to go off.

Xavi 9 - Scored and set up two other goals as well as a handful of chances in a display that can only be described as vintage.

Iniesta 8.5 - His running and vision lifts Barcelona each time he plays and he showed again here why he was so sorely missed when he was out recently, while his pass for the sixth goal was sublime.

Henry 8.5 - Took his goal very well and could have had more, but the French forward will have been very pleased with his overall performance.

Messi 8.5 - A stunning goal capped a display that saw Messi constantly look to move in behind the Malaga defence or bring in a team-mate when he could.

Eto'o 8.5 - A constant menace who was far more involved in this game than he has been in some recent matches and his two goals were well deserved.

    Subs

Keita 7.5 - Was a rock in front of the back four as he replaced Toure seamlessly and kept Malaga from achieving anything until after the hour mark.

Gudjohnsen 6 - Picked up his performance although he was unlikely to be able to maintain the level that Barcelona had been playing at when he went on.

Bojan 6.5 Could and should have scored, but by the time he came on Barcelona had taken their foot off the pedal slightly.

    MALAGA

Goitia 5.5 - Made a number of saves to ensure that the scoreline was not even higher and will want to forget about this game quickly.

Jesus Gamez 4.5 - Both of Malaga's full-backs were unable to cope with Barca's diagonal runs and passes and he was helpless at time when Henry and Sylvinho went forward.

Cuadrado 4.5 - Could not cope with the movement and speed that Barcelona's forwards possessed and was often at a loss about how to stop them.

Helder 4.5 - Eto'o may have been playing in the middle on his own, but Barca pulled the defenders all over the place and he did not have a good game.

Nacho 4 - At least two goals came down his side as he did not know who to mark or where to run, especially in the first half, as Messi and Alves went forward.

Lolo 5 - Employed to protect the back four, the defensive midfielder did that for a while, but once the first goal went in Xavi and Iniesta had too much space.

Apoño 5 - Was also supposed to try and stop Xavi and Iniesta from finding space and being able to create and he could not stop them.

Eliseu 6 - Arguably, Malaga's best outfield player as he often broke down the left and tried to create things even in a first half that was so one-sided.

Fernando 5.5 - Showed a few good touches and improved after the break, but he found that it is not just Barca's forwards that were on form.

Luque 5 - Did bits and pieces going forward as he looked to score against his former club, but his best chance saw him fail to connect with the ball properly.

Salva 4 - Virtually anonymous until popping up in the second half to chase a ball down and see a shot deflected wide.

    Subs

Duda 5.5 - His presence certainly gave Malaga a different outlet, but he was unable to do much to alter the game by the time he went on.

Gaspart 5 - Went on and had little effect on the outcome or the action as Barcelona did not go down the left flank much in the second half.

Ferreira 5 - Malaga certainly had more chances in the second half, but he was unable to help them even find one goal.
